What’s the role?
The role is to deliver a high‑quality statutory review service for homelessness and housing decisions, ensuring all reviews, appeals and complaints are investigated thoroughly and completed within legal deadlines. It involves making complex, legally robust decisions, managing a demanding caseload, and liaising closely with solicitors, MPs, the Ombudsman and partner agencies. The post also drives service improvement by identifying issues, providing guidance to staff, and promoting a strong homelessness‑prevention approach.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with strong expertise in homelessness and housing legislation who can confidently apply complex law to real cases. You’ll need excellent analytical skills to investigate evidence and produce clear, robust review decisions within strict statutory deadlines. We want a skilled communicator who can write high‑quality responses for MPs, the Ombudsman and vulnerable households, while maintaining professionalism and empathy. You should also thrive in a fast‑paced environment, managing a demanding caseload and building effective relationships with legal teams, partners and internal services.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£45,852.00- £47,925.00 per annum (PO2)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof
