Risk Analyst
Summary
Job Introduction
Are you a detail-focused risk professional looking for a role where your work helps drive meaningful cultural change?
We're looking for a proactive Risk Analyst to join our Enterprise Risk Management team at NHG as we continue to embed stronger ownership of risk, controls and assurance across the business.
In this role, you'll support the development and rollout of our new risk management system (Decision Time), help define our control and assurance framework, and play a key part in transitioning from centrally managed risk to a model where accountability is shared and understood.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to a purposeful change programme, improve how risk is managed across NHG, and work within a team committed to inclusion, collaboration, and getting things done.
What you'll do
- Support the maintenance of our principal and operational risk registers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with NHG's risk universe.
- Work alongside colleagues to build and map risk controls, allocate ownership, and capture assurance evidence.
- Help configure, test, and improve our Decision Time system to support risk and assurance workflows.
- Support the tracking of risk actions, mitigations, and testing cycles to ensure visibility and follow-up.
- Contribute to reporting outputs including dashboards, committee packs, and data summaries.
- Build relationships with teams across NHG to encourage engagement with risk, control, and assurance responsibilities.
- Identify improvements to how we use data, structure risk content, and communicate insights.
How you'll make a difference
This is a delivery-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in detail, building relationships across teams, and making risk processes work in practice. You will support the rollout and improvement of our risk management system (Decision Time), help build our organisation-wide control mapping and assurance framework and ensure risk information is both accurate and actionable. You'll work closely with the Risk and Assurance team to help shift the culture from risk being owned centrally, to being shared and embedded effectively across NHG.
How you'll do it
- Maintain and update risk registers aligned to NHG's principal and operational risk structures.
- Support configuration and testing of our risk management system (Decision Time) and help translate risk data into practical outputs.
- Assist with mapping controls to risks and supporting risk owners to take ownership of their control environment.
- Track risk mitigations, control testing, and assurance activity - helping to ensure visibility, follow-through, and escalation.
- Contribute to risk and assurance reporting by preparing draft summaries, dashboards, or exceptions analysis.
- Collaborate with business areas to improve engagement and understanding of risk responsibilities in a changing cultural environment.
- Monitor risk and control data to identify trends or gaps and suggest ways to improve the quality and value of our insight.
