
Risk and Assurance Officer
Summary
What you'll do
As a Risk and Assurance Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening Notting Hill Genesis' risk management and assurance arrangements. Working within our Enterprise Risk Management Team, you will provide independent oversight and constructive challenge to ensure risks, controls and governance processes are effectively managed across the organisation.
You'll work closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders to support risk identification, maintain risk registers, undertake assurance reviews, monitor internal audit actions and provide insightful reporting that enables informed decision-making.
How you'll do it
- Support business areas in identifying, assessing and managing risks in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Provide guidance and challenge to managers on risk assessments, controls and mitigation plans.
- Maintain and review risk registers to ensure risks are accurately articulated and effectively controlled.
- Undertake assurance reviews and control testing to assess the effectiveness of key controls.
- Maintain the organisation's Assurance Map and support the three lines of defence model.
- Monitor and validate internal and external audit actions, ensuring timely completion and robust evidence.
- Prepare risk and assurance reports for senior leadership, Executive Board and governance committees.
- Analyse risk trends, emerging risks and control effectiveness to support strategic decision-making.
- Support governance forums, including Audit and Risk Committee reporting.

Essential:
- Experience supporting risk management, risk assessments and risk reporting.
- Knowledge of internal controls, assurance frameworks and governance practices.
- Experience undertaking assurance reviews, control testing or audit-related activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Ability to challenge constructively and influence positive outcomes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and risk management systems.
Desirable:
- Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) qualification or equivalent.
- Institute of Risk Management (IRM) qualification.
- Knowledge of ISO 31000, COSO ERM or similar frameworks.

Salary range
- £41,399 - £45,999 per year
