We are recruiting a Road Safety Project Officerat Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 hours
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
Team: Transportation Engineering

As a Road Safety Officer, you will play a key role in delivering the Council’s road safety service. You’ll coordinate and deliver a wide range of road safety programmes, campaigns and training activities aimed at reducing road casualties and promoting safer behaviours for people of all ages.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines project delivery, partnership working, supervision, community engagement and operational decision‑making.

You’ll coordinate and deliver a range of Road Safety ETP initiatives, providing training, presentations and campaigns for all age groups while working with partners such as Mega Drive, Crucial Crew, Kerbcraft and Operation Atal. You’ll support schools with local issues, supervise elements of team activity, respond to enquiries, and represent the service at meetings. The role also includes completing risk assessments, managing project administration, contributing to evaluations, processing DBS applications, and ordering and distributing resources.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification on the Qualifications and Credit Framework for Wales. For example A levels.
  • Awareness of road safety education, training and publicity initiatives.
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit schools and transport materials/ equipment.
