The services main purpose is the conveyance by accessible buses of Adults or Children with learning or physical difficulties to Day Centre's or Schools and then returning them home.
Our aim is to provide a safe quality driven customer focused service, whilst maximising fleet availability, achieving positive outcomes and reducing waiting times, route times with efficient route scheduling.
About the Job
Transport Route Co - Ordinator role is to carry out the following:
We require skilled and experienced Route Co-Ordinators to join our operations team based at Central Depot in Hornchurch.
Route Co-Ordinators are required to plan, monitor routes, for all Internal and external contracted work including ad-hoc work.
Allocating drivers and passenger assistants to the correct identified vehicles to various in borough / outer borough trips / locations.
Manage staff levels for contracted routes
Provide route cover at short notice
This is a 36hr per week contract Mon to Friday
About You
- Experience in route scheduling and planning (UK & Europe)
- Knowledge of UK & European Transport (LAW)
- Knowledge of specialist Data bases such as Tranman,Transys & Flexiroute.
- Knowledge & experience of Microsoft products (Word & Excel)
- Experience of conveying or working with Vulnerable clients (Adults & Children)
- Experience of Driving PCV vehicles (Large & Small) and the usage of Tail lifts.
- Ability to maintain high safe performance standards and be part of a large team.
- Must be able to communicate clearly across the company, its clients and its customers
- Must be able to have good clear writing skills
- Be practical, efficient and able to prioritise workload in a busy working environment
- Be enthusiastic about joining a dynamic local authority and be
- proactive in identifying opportunities to improve quality and productivity
- Flexible approach to working hours including O/T
- Holder of a (clean) minimum category D1 small PCV license
- Desirable – Holder of a Digital Tacho Card
- Desirable – Holder of a DQC (Drivers Qualification Card) must be gained within 12 months –successful candidates will receive training
- Desirable – Holder of a Passenger CPC
