We have a brand-new opportunity available for a Safeguarding Adults & Community Safety Board Business Manager to join our team here at Wokingham Borough Council on a full time, permanent basis.

We are looking for a Safeguarding Adults & Community Safety Board Business Manager, based in our newly established Boards Business Unit, dedicated to driving synergy and excellence across adult safeguarding and community safety.
As the Business Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our Safeguarding Adults & Community Safety Board, leading the coordination, management, and administration of the Board’s activities. This pivotal role empowers you to enable the Board to meet its statutory responsibilities to safeguard adults at risk and deliver our community safety priorities. You’ll champion multiagency collaboration, support strategic priorities, and help us deliver real impact for residents in Wokingham.

Key responsibilities:
- Provide strategic support to the Safeguarding Adults and Community Safety Board, including the development and implementation of business plans, annual reports, and board-wide policies.
- Oversee Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews, adult safeguarding and community safety audits, and learning processes, supporting partners to act on recommendations and embed best practice.
- Develop and maintain robust information management systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with GDPR and relevant legislation across safeguarding and safety workstreams.
- Act as a central contact for Board members, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring effective information sharing and collaborative working across adult safeguarding and community safety issues.
- Develop and maintain professionals and public facing web enabled platforms across adult safeguarding and community safety workstreams.
Candidate requirements:
- Significant experience in safeguarding, community safety, partnership working, within health, social care, policing or relevant sectors.
- Comprehensive understanding of adult safeguarding legislation, community safety statutory guidance and effective multiagency working.
- Professional integrity, discretion, and a strong commitment to prompting the wellbeing and safety of adults at risk and the wider community
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g. social work, public administration, criminology, community safety) is desirable.
- Advantageous for candidates to have experience of working strategically within Local Government, Health, Police, Fire or Probation
