Salary: £29,909 to £32,590 per annum (London weighted salary) or £ 26,170 to £ 28,664 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience

Reporting Office: London, Stratford or Manchester, Trafford
Working Location: Occasional travel between Manchester to London will be required
Persona: Agile Worker: 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location (hybrid working)

As a Safeguarding Assistant, you’ll support the coordination of safeguarding activity across the organisation.
You will provide administrative support to the Specialist Advice and Guidance team, helping to coordinate safeguarding activity, maintain accurate records, and support timely triage and responses to safeguarding concerns.
This role sits within our Housing Specialisms team and reports directly to our Senior Vulnerability and Safeguarding Specialist, giving you the opportunity to work alongside specialists in areas such as domestic abuse, mental health, ASB, and resident support.

With increasing complexity in cases involving mental health, domestic abuse, exploitation, and other vulnerabilities, we need a dedicated assistant who can support the coordination, administration, and delivery of safeguarding activity. This role ensures we respond effectively, meet our legal and ethical responsibilities, and maintain high standards of practice.

Your impact in the role including main duties:
- Supporting the coordination and administration of safeguarding cases and referrals
- Maintaining accurate, confidential and up-to-date case records and documentation including completing initial screening of safeguarding concerns using agreed guidance
- Liaising with housing teams to support effective case management
- Supporting the specialisms team to organise and co-ordinate high harm panels including scheduling, documentation and minute taking
- Supporting the application of safeguarding policies and procedures across housing services
- Assisting in monitoring safeguarding activity and helping track key performance indicators
- Supporting colleagues to ensure a consistent and person-centred approach to safeguarding
- Contributing to continuous improvement in safeguarding practice
What you'll bring:
- Experience providing administrative services to teams working with vulnerable adults and/or children, ideally within a housing, health or social care setting
- A good understanding of safeguarding principles and relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently and assertively with colleagues.
- The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and manage high volumes of work
- Confidence working collaboratively with internal teams
- The ability to identify risk indicators and escalate concerns appropriately in line with guidance and procedures
- A commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed practice
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in relation to record-keeping, data accuracy and audit requirements
- Relevant qualification (desirable), such as health and social care (NVQ Level 3/4 or equivalent)
- A willingness to learn, develop, and build expertise in safeguarding practice
