This is an opportunity for change, and development of knowledge and skills in Safeguarding.

Our dynamic team are looking for Safeguarding Practitioners to join us to contribute effectively and professionally to the work of the specialist Adult Safeguarding team, to fulfil Hertfordshire County Council’s Adult Safeguarding responsibilities in line with Section 42 of the Care Act and working within Hertfordshire safeguarding frameworks. The values and principles of Making Safeguarding Personal are intrinsic to the operations of the team

About the role

You’ll be informed by the principles of personalisation, ensuring our safeguarding responses and actions are person-centred and, as far as possible, put people in control of their lives. Your practice will be responsive, inclusive and community-based, working to ensure the service we provide is effective, efficient and delivers positive and personal outcomes for the citizens of Hertfordshire.

Responding to safeguarding concerns raised, you’ll make sure there’s an effective plan to keep people safe (in a way that’s reasonable and acceptable to the person). You’ll gather relevant information to support decision making and seek and record the views of adult at risk. Where needed, you’ll undertake capacity assessments / best interest decisions and you’ll work to mitigate risk to the person. You’ll contribute to strategy discussions or meetings and may be required to lead investigations and contribute to case conferences

Partnership working is key to the role.

It will be an opportunity for you to develop knowledge and partnership links in a lead area

About you

Essential:

  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Social Work qualification
  • Relevant knowledge of the Care Act
  • Full Driving Licence and regular access to a vehicle

Safeguarding

Driving required
You’ll need to have the ability to drive and/or travel around Hertfordshire, either using your own mode of transport or a company car to travel to other locations.

English Fluency
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post (for those whose language is a signed language the provision of a sign language interpreter who speaks English to the necessary standard of fluency will be required).     • £38,220 - £41,731 per year
