
SALT Teaching Assistant
The governors of Over Hall Community School are seeking to recruit a qualified SALT Teaching Assistant. This role involves working under the direction of the class teacher and Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) to provide support children in class. Our successful candidate will need experience of working with children with social communication difficulties and speech and language needs and be able to work collaboratively to support the needs of these children.
This role will require working with class teachers to deliver outstanding inclusive practice to children with complex needs. This includes:
- Delivering interventions and support children with any additional need (small group and 1:1)
- Foster positive relationships with families and work with them
- Work with outside agencies to implement their recommendations to support the development and inclusion of children with complex needs.
The role is Monday to Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm, 39 weeks per year, including inset days. In your role you will work closely with our SENDCO, class teachers and other teaching assistants.
