The Headteacher, staff and governors at Brookside Primary School are looking to appoint a friendly, experienced and highly organised School Business Manager to join our dedicated team.

We are proud of our achievements and continuously strive for excellence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to help shape our future and deliver outstanding education. We are seeking a versatile leader with proven project management skills to oversee vital operations, including finance, HR, ICT, health and safety, and premises management.

This is a permanent, full-time position, term-time only plus 3 weeks (41 weeks total per year). The post is graded at Grade 7 (pro-rata salary based on local government pay scales). 4 days per week will be considered.

As our School Business Manager, you will be driving the operational and financial success of our school. You will take strategic responsibility for financial management, human resources, premises management, and administrative systems, ensuring that our resources are aligned to provide the best possible environment for our pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Overseeing the school budget, monitoring expenditure, forecasting, and reporting directly to the Headteacher and Governors.
  • Human Resources: Managing staff payroll inputs, contract administration, and maintaining personnel files.
  • Premises & Health & Safety: Liaison with site maintenance staff, managing external contractors.
  • School Administration: Leading and developing our busy school office and front-of-house administrative team.
