
Schools Library Service Manager
Joining our Schools Library Service Team
You would be leading an important service to the community providing a quality, efficient and reliable service to pupils and teaching staff across the borough and beyond. Welcoming and assisting teaching staff to make effective use of the range of services and facilities available, whilst promoting and advocating the arts, cultural events and activities, selecting resources that support the curriculum and encouraging reading for pleasure.
Customer care and effective communication is central to our service along with technology use to enable learning.
Day to day you can expect to be responding to a wide range of enquires, membership, discharging and shelving books, stock checks, delivering group sessions on books, assisting with the use of technology and general administration. You would also be part of the senior library team, contributing to the management, development and delivery of a customer-focussed Schools Library Service, Home Delivery Service and wider Library Service.
Important information
A full driving licence is required: The role supports our schools with a book collection and delivery service across St Helens and the wider region which will involve travel.
Hours of work are 37 hours per week, normally 8.30AM till 5.00PM Monday through Friday.
Kindly note, the service is in the process of relocation to another location within the borough.
