About the Role:
We are looking for a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operatives (Tractor Driver/Gardener/Grave Digger) to help provide an excellent service for local people working on Arrowe Park Golf Course. The successful candidate will help implement the Wirral Parks Standard which will involve working with staff (both Parks and Countryside and Golf Client), service users and external organisations.
Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative (Golf)
The successful candidates will join the green-keeping team based at Arrowe Park Golf Course which is responsible for the maintenance of Arrowe Park Golf. The green-keeping team work to provide a comprehensive grounds service which includes fine turf, horticulture and arboriculture operations to a standard in line with current industry standards. As part of the interview, you will be required to undertake a short practical test.
Maintenance operations include all aspects of green keeping, mowing and vegetation control, maintenance and management of tree and shrub areas and in addition undertaking cleansing operations and all other duties relevant to the grade.
We are looking for someone who has worked within a Grounds Maintenance team and experience of assisting and implementing a grass cutting schedule, working with plans and carry out other Amenity work when required.
You will have the following essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Health & Safety awareness.
- Full/Provisional Driving Licence.
As well as being able to carry out a full range of maintenance duties it will be desirable if you were skilled in at least one of the following:
- Compact Ride-On Mowing Machines.
- Experience in use of industrial horticultural machinery, strimmer, backpack blower, and hedge cutter.
- Fine Turf (golf green, tees etc)
- Tractor Driving
- Pesticide use PA1 / PA2/ PA6
Temporary Contract and hours as follows:
26 weeks @ 36 hrs to commence April 2026 to 26th September 2025 (annualised, part of contract will be for 40 hours per week)
Monday to Thursday 07.00am -16.15pm.
With alternating Wednesdays and Fridays 07.00am – 12.30pm
