    Job introduction

    As a Seasonal Seafront Coordinator you will be the main eyes and ears of the Seafront Office, patrolling up and down by foot and on quad bikes, ensuring Brighton & Hove is one of the best beaches to come and visit, by providing excellent service to residents, visitors, seafront businesses and stakeholders.

    You will provide help and support when needed in emergency situations. Respond to first aid incidents and issues of anti social behaviour. Carry out daily seafront patrols; promoting sea safety, enforcement of byelaws and a commitment to health & safety. Working within the seafront service team to help deliver a safe, clean and controlled environment for all. You will also help with weddings on the bandstand, seafront events and general office administrative duties and cash handling. You will need a strong team ethic, remain calm under pressure and provide excellent customer service.

    You will need a flexible approach to shift work, to include weekends and bank holidays.

    About the role

    The monitoring of seafront facilities and the maintaining of written records kept at the Seafront Office. To maintain a point of contact with the seafront office by radio to advise and assist in the operation of the Seafront Office.

    To provide first aid to Seafront users where required.

    Manage and monitor contract with the RNLI

    To assist in the setting up, breaking down of outdoor events and the Volleyball court.

    To assist the Seafront Officers in the efficient and effective operation of the seafront.

    Provide help and Assistance to all seafront users and public services.

    Establish and maintain good lines of communication with arch tenants, the fishing community, emergency services and other public bodies.

    The post holder must be prepared to implement the councils Equalities policy at a level appropriate to the Job and must at all times carry out his/her duties with due regard to the councils Equalities policy.

    To be responsible for the implementation of and adhere to the provisions of legislation relating to the Health and safety of such employees and areas of the workplace as fall under the direct control of the post holder and for the complying with legislation relating to works and contracts as are within the direct responsibility of the post holder.

    To undertake such duties appropriate to the grade and character of the work as may be reasonably required.

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
