About the role
As SENDCo at Lift Plumberow, you will lead and develop SEND provision across the school,ensuring pupils' needs are identified early and that the right support is in place to help every child access learning and achieve their potential.
You will work closely with teachers, support staff, families and external professionals to coordinate effective provision, support high quality inclusive teaching and ensure statutory SEND responsibilities are met. You will use assessment and pupil information to monitor the impact of support, drive improvements in provision and help colleagues develop their confidence and expertise in meeting a wide range of needs.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop SEND provision across the school, ensuring it supports school priorities and an inclusive culture
- Ensure pupils' additional needs are identified, assessed and supported effectively
- Work with teachers to strengthen inclusive classroom practice and ensure appropriate adaptations are made
- Coordinate support plans, interventions and statutory processes, including EHCP assessments and annual reviews
- Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals
- Monitor pupils' progress and outcomes, using data and evidence to evaluate and continually improve provision
- Maintain accurate SEND records and oversee the school's SEND register
- Provide advice, guidance and professional development to colleagues to build confidence and expertise in supporting pupils with SEND
- Support the effective deployment of SEND resources and support staff
What we're looking for
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO)
- Experience of working with pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities
- Experience of coordinating SEND provision and supporting positive outcomes for pupils
- Experience of working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals
- Strong knowledge and understanding of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice and statutory responsibilities
- An understanding of effective inclusive teaching and approaches to supporting pupils with additional needs
- The ability to analyse data, monitor progress and evaluate the impact of SEND provision
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and statutory deadlines
- The ability to lead, influence and support colleagues to improve outcomes for pupils with SEND
- A passionate, resilient and solution-focused approach, with a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion
