Overview of the Post

Due to significant growth, Impact North West Schools is seeking an experienced and passionate SENDCO to join our team in Birkenhead. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed professional who believes in inclusive education and is driven to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.

The Role

As SENDCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading SEND provision across the school. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, families and external agencies to ensure that pupils with special educational needs and disabilities receive high-quality, personalised support that enables them to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

● Lead and develop SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice

● Identify, assess and review pupils’ SEND needs

● Develop and oversee high-quality individual support plans

● Work collaboratively with staff to embed inclusive practice across the school

● Liaise effectively with parents/carers, local authorities and multi-agency partners

● Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND interventions and provision

● Contribute to strategic leadership and whole-school improvement

The Ideal Candidate

● Holds NPQ SEND or the NASENCo qualification (essential)

● Has significant experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally in specialist, alternative or inclusive settings

● Demonstrates a strong understanding of behaviour, trauma-informed practice and inclusive curriculum design

● Is an effective leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
