Senior Auditor

Ealing Council have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Auditor to join our internal audit shared service covering Ealing and Hounslow Councils. We insourced the team in 2024 to build a centre of excellence of internal audit. We are looking for an ambitious, professional, conscientious individual to join our team. We are keen to help you grow and develop.

As the Senior Auditor you will be responsible for the delivery of risk-based audits across a diverse portfolio of services. You will manage complex audit reviews, oversee the implementation of audit recommendations and provide expert advice on governance, risk management and internal control. The role includes developing and mentoring audit trainees, managing key stakeholder relationships, and deputising for senior management as required. You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and strengthening assurance across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have a sound audit background, preferably in a local government environment, and will be able to perform internal audit work to a high standard. A good understanding of audit principles, controls, governance and risk as well as strong interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
