We are seeking an experienced professional to join the Bereavement Services Team as the Senior Bereavement Services Team Leader. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the crematorium which is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact within the local community. Our crematorium plays a vital role in serving the community, providing a space where families can remember and honor their loved ones - not just on the day of the service, but throughout the year.
In this role, your excellent leadership will be key to driving success. You’ll have full responsibility for overseeing day to day operations and developing your team. You'll cultivate a culture that reflects the council's key values of resilience, adaptability and participation while ensuring we maintain our reputation for quality and exceptional care. Building positive connections with families and Funeral Directors will be essential, ensuring they know they can rely on us during their most difficult times.
As the needs of the families we serve continue to evolve, so do our services. No two days will be the same, as each family and farewell is deeply personal. Our chapels are designed to accommodate people of all faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds, offering families the flexibility to create a service that truly reflects their wishes. Your creativity and vision will help shape the uniqueness of the crematorium and by joining us, you will become part of something truly significant - offering comfort, support, and a lasting legacy for those who need it most.
Ideally you will have bereavement related experience but must be a good communicator, a problem solver, have an adaptable approach to work and provide a high standard of customer care.
