Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior cook to join our team. The Old School House Residential home is a care home for older people living with advanced dementia in Beverley. The home has been awarded a ‘Outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission and we pride ourselves on quality and providing a homely environment for our residents.

You may already be an experienced cook/senior cook from either working in a residential setting, kitchen or even at home. If so, this job may be right for you. A full induction and support will be provided for you to develop throughout your career.

The role will include preparing and cooking a range of meals in line with meal plans / recipes that are high quality, suitable for those with specific needs and appetising.

You will also be responsible for ordering stock, managing/supervising the team of kitchen assistants and the other cook

If you enjoy cooking in a large kitchen, then we would welcome your application.

You should be able to work as part of a team. A good value base and an awareness of how a busy kitchen operates is desirable but not essential as training can be provided

The work is challenging but extremely rewarding. If you like working with people and have a desire to improve the quality of life of older people in residential care, this post could be for you.

32 hour Role available, (8 hours daily over 4 days, alternate weekends and some bank holidays)
