Job summary
The Statutory Review team plays a key role in delivering Ofgem’s statutory obligations across scheme administration. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team at the heart of Delivery and Schemes, supporting fair and robust decision-making across the Renewable Heat Incentive, Boiler Upgrade Scheme and Green Gas Support Scheme.
As a Senior Engagement Analyst, you will carry out detailed statutory reviews of decisions made by operational colleagues, ensuring they align with relevant legislation, policy and administrative processes. This role requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail and the confidence to challenge and make evidence-based decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
Job description
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing decisions to ensure they are fully compliant with scheme regulations and internal processes. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders across legal, technical and policy teams, drawing on their expertise to inform your analysis and conclusions. Alongside this, you will engage directly with scheme users via phone and email, ensuring that all interactions are handled professionally and with a strong customer focus.
A key aspect of the position involves producing clear, accurate and customer-friendly outcome communications, particularly in situations where decisions may be challenged. You will also play an important role in supporting continuous improvement by identifying insights from the cases you review and contributing to enhancements in processes and ways of working. In addition, you will help strengthen team capability by sharing your knowledge, quality checking colleagues’ work, and supporting the ongoing development of Engagement Analysts across the team.

Person specification
Essential:
- Technical judgement: proven experience interpreting complex or technical information to deliver decisions or recommendations aligned with legislative frameworks and considering risks and impacts (LEAD)
- Delivery: skilled at managing workload, responding to shifting priorities and demand, to meet KPIs (LEAD)
- Investigation: confident in identifying and gathering information from a range of sources, including complex technical and legal information, and stakeholder discussions.
- Communication: strong written and verbal skills, able to explain technical points simply and handle difficult conversations
Desirable:
- Experience working with Government schemes, particularly energy or environmental schemes.
