We are looking for a Senior Housing Options Adviser to join our brilliant team on a permanent basis. This is a position leading the frontline Housing Options service.
The post holder will be responsible for the direct line management of officers who undertake statutory housing responsibilities but also supporting employees who provide a service positively aiding a range of complex cases to a diverse customer base.
About you
We need a strong leader who is motivated to ensure vulnerable members of the community are supported effectively.The successful postholder willhave:
- Advanced knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and a range of other legislation.Using this to support front line staff are delivering an excellent level of service, in line with the appropriate legislation.
- The ability to work autonomously, supporting the Principal Housing Officer by making complex decisions based on evidence and data from multiple agencies.
- Strong leadership skills, motivating and empowering frontline staff to deliver a high-quality service.
- Experience in managing and where necessary advising front line employees on innovative ways to support complex needs individuals, promoting a multi-agency approach and in line with an assertive outreach model.
- Experience in maximising performance across a team and be confident to drive and suggest changes to contribute to a performance focused culture.
- An understanding of dealing with customers with complex needs, including new and innovative approaches to support individuals who are hard to reach.
- An innovative style and supports transformation of the team with a strong focus on promoting the prevention of homelessness.
- Commitment to delivering the councils values of great customer service, openness and accountability, innovation and improvement and fairness and respect.
- Responsibility for demonstrating and promoting the Council’s Leadership Behaviour Framework by inspiring, communicating, collaborating and empowering self and others and leading by example.
