Our Team:

We have an opportunity for a Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join the Halton Domestic Abuse Team

Our team ensures responsive, high-quality, and effective IDVA service delivery in supporting victims of domestic abuse.

We provide case management support for victims of domestic abuse, working with clients at highest risk as part of a high-quality frontline service that operates within a multi-agency framework.

We support individuals by navigating multi-agency responses to meet wide-ranging needs and liaising with appropriate agencies, including participating in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC).


Hours: 37 per week Monday – Friday

Please be aware that the successful applicant will be required to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.


Your Contributions:

Do you want to make a difference every day supporting and advocating on behalf of domestic abuse victims and contribute to change & improvement for those who need it?

Do youhave the relevant qualifications and extensive experience of working with people experiencing domestic abuse,( either in a paid or voluntary capacity) and the ability to work effectively to reduce the harm caused by domestic abuse and improve outcomes for victims and their dependents we would love to hear from you.

As aSenior Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will::

  • Provide Case management support for victims of domestic abuse, working with clients at the highest risk as part of a high-quality frontline service that operates within a multi-agency framework?
  • Support individuals by navigating multi-agency responses to meet wide-ranging needs, liaising with appropriate agencies and participating in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC)?
  • Offer leadership and supervisory support in crisis situations—guiding and supporting staff, adhering to risk management protocols, safeguarding practices, and promoting effective information sharing?
  • Fulfil the role of an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA), working with Halton clients at high and medium risk of serious harm, supporting victims to access services while ensuring the safety of both clients and their dependents remains central to all responses and multi-agency approaches?

As this role involves regular travel across the borough and sometimes further afield, a driving license and access to a vehicle are essential requirements. Where appropriate, reasonable adjustments will be made in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act.
