Ofgem is developing a new approach to how we oversee energy networks, using better intelligence to understand performance, identify risks and protect consumers. We’re looking for a Senior Lead - Intelligent Oversight to help shape that approach and put it into practice.Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. Job description
We’re looking for someone with experience of regulatory oversight in any sector or energy sector regulation, which could include policy development, performance monitoring, price controls or other company-facing regulatory work. You’ll also need strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, experience of leading engagement with external organisations and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to turn strategic objectives into practical approaches and continually improve how they work will also be essential.In return, you’ll have the chance to deepen your understanding of energy networks and develop your expertise in regulatory oversight utilising our new approach to specialise within the area. Essential Criteria:
- Experience of regulatory oversight in any sector, or of working in energy sector regulation. This could include policy development, performance monitoring, price controls, or other company-facing regulatory work. (Lead)
- Experience of collecting, interpreting and analysing qualitative and quantitative evidence to identify risks, trends, issues and recommended actions.
- Experience of leading engagement with external organisations, including testing evidence, challenging performance, setting expectations and following up on agreed actions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and produce high-quality advice, assessments and recommendations for senior audiences.
- Ability to translate strategic objectives or policy intent into practical tools and ways of working, while managing delivery and continuously improving approaches.
