
Senior Manager Continuous Improvement
Job summary
Working in a team led by our Assistant Director Control Environment, the Continuous Improvement Senior Manager will play a critical role in facilitating the delivery of tangible improvements to processes and ways of working across Homes England. You will be joining our small, newly formed team committed to enhancing continuous improvement culture and making positive change to how our internal and external services are delivered.
We have established a continuous improvement framework rooted in the kaizen concept of continual small-scale change, to help us deliver rapid solutions. This is a rare chance to deliver hands on tactical improvements that improve day to day operations, enhancing colleague satisfaction and contributing to the strategic goals of the Agency by improving efficiency and effectiveness.
Working with colleagues from across all Homes England disciplines you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective services are delivered and have the opportunity to build and grow the continuous improvement culture and mindset across Homes England.
The role will work with stakeholders of all grades from across all areas of delivery facing and corporate functions. There are lots of ambitious projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to enhance day to day delivery through bringing innovative solutions to the table.
Job description
You'll be comfortable working with a multitude of different stakeholders supporting them to identify and implement rapid improvement opportunities across the Agency. You will have an inquisitive and ‘can-do’ mindset with exceptional engagement and influencing skills inspiring confidence as you guide colleagues through the Ci framework to realise benefits. You’ll be proficient in facilitating discussions and workshops to get to the root cause of a problem, quickly able to understand others’ processes and drivers to come up with impactful solutions.
You’ll be comfortable working on multiple improvement initiatives concurrently, through either a lead delivery or support and facilitation role, as well as developing guidance and templates and attending meetings to discuss how CI can enhance operations.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an Agency.
As an excellent communicator and experienced facilitator you’ll understand how to manage colleagues, drive work through to completion and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
Person specification
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in business, change, operations or process improvement, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience delivering small-scale continuous improvement initiatives in rapid cycles.
- Strong understanding of CI frameworks, tools and techniques, with ability to apply them effectively.
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement and influencing across all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, supporting development and performance.
- Experience producing high-quality reports and insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams and functions.
- Experienced in identifying inefficiencies and implementing tactical solutions that deliver measurable benefits.
- Confident presenter with experience tailoring communications to varied audiences.
- Positive, enquiring mindset with a focus on learning, problem-solving and delivering improvements at pace.
