
Senior Manager - Product
Job summary
Working alongside our Lead Product Manager within the Data & Analytics directorate or supporting the newly formed National Housing Bank, the Senior Product Manager will play a critical role in the development and continued improvement of our products. You will be joining a growing team of friendly, talented & highly skilled people, who are committed to making positive change across the agency transforming Homes England into a modern, high-performing digital and data-enabled organisation.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for line managing Product Managers and Associate Product Managers, supporting and coaching them to build their capabilities.
You will work within a multi-disciplinary team supporting an area within the Data & Analytics directorate or supporting the National Housing Bank to ensure there is an overall view of the problems, priorities and how we develop user-centred solutions to meet business needs. The role will support the delivery of key strategic objectives including the delivery of trusted, high quality products as part of the Digital & Data Strategy.
Working with the other Product Managers you will contribute to an organisation-wide product strategy for Homes England and ensure the strategy for your service and products form part of a holistic approach to building and maintaining products to meet the overall needs of Homes England.
Job description
The role holder leads the development and direction of key digital products that enable the Agency to deliver its strategic objectives. Working collaboratively across Digital and the wider organisation, the role maintains a clear product roadmap that ensures services are simple, user-focused, and aligned with organisational goals.
This role helps shape product strategies that maximise business value, championing best practice in product management, and fostering strong connections with the wider government product community to keep skills and approaches current.
The role consistently demonstrates and embeds the values and behaviours in daily work, contributing to a positive and inclusive culture.
Person specification
You will have experience of leadership within a product management function delivering user centred digital products, through which you have gained expert skills in strategic product ownership and the ability to contextualise problems and their potential solutions within the wider needs of the organisation.
You will have experience of working as a product manager leading a multidisciplinary team in delivering large and complex digital services through which you will have developed expertise to be able to define and create approaches, to coach others and to implement new ways of working.
You will have an expert understanding of approaches to digital delivery including user needs analysis, service design, prototyping, DevOps and continuous improvement, through which you can bring insight and expertise in how user needs are met by the business and apply strategic thinking in how to provide the best service for the end user.
You will have the proven ability to develop long-term vision and objectives for digital services, being discerning and disciplined in focusing on what is important and most relevant, and be able to develop this capability in others
You will have an understanding of new and emerging digital technologies and the opportunities they provide to improve the delivery of public services in the UK
