SENIOR PBI REPORT AND INSIGHT MANAGER

An exciting opportunity to join Birmingham Children’s Trust’s ‘Trust Intelligence and Insight Centre’ (TIIC). As Senior PBI Report and Insight Manager on 12 month contract with the potential for an extension, you will lead a team driving our digital and data strategy, turning complex data into actionable insights that deliver positive change for children and families. Use your professional curiosity, ability to simplify complex concepts, and confidence in challenging conversations to shape how we use data, influence decision-making, and champion innovation across the Trust.

About The Role

As Senior PBI Report and Insight Manager in TIIC, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of PBI Developer and Insight Manager, Insight and Intelligence Managers and PBI Report Writers and Analysts, overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of complex Power BI reports and dashboards that inform strategic decisions and statutory reporting.
  • Champion business intelligence and insight initiatives, identifying innovative technologies and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and operational teams to translate complex data into actionable insights, supporting service delivery and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Drive Ofsted readiness and inspection support, ensuring the Trust’s data and reporting infrastructure is robust, accurate, and ready for scrutiny.
  • Model resilience and professional curiosity, supporting your team and the wider workforce through high-pressure periods and emotionally demanding challenges.
  • Promote equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of your work, ensuring the Trust is a place for people to be their best, authentic selves.

What you will bring:

  • Professional qualification at degree level or equivalent (including relevant experience) covering Digital, Information Management, and Business Intelligence skills. Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Advanced expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data warehousing.
  • Proven leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience in statutory reporting, performance analysis, and quality assurance.
  • The ability to communicate complex information with clarity and empathy.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, continuous learning, and service excellence.
This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
