Job Summary
To join the growing Strategic Delivery Directorate (SDD). The role of the Enterprise Senior Project Manager is to lead / manage a single or multiple projects and the project teams on a day-to-day basis. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of projects to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. The Senior Project Manager has a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.

Key Accountabilities:
Delivery – Create and lead the project to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
Project Management – Day to day management and leadership of the project and the project team. Set project controls. Design the project structure appropriate to stage. Select and apply appropriate delivery methodologies.
Business Case – Coordinate development of the Business Case.
Budget – Track delivery within budget.
Resources – Schedule / manage resources to deliver the project. May work independently or with a small team. • Benefits Realisation – Ensure benefits are identified, understood, measured, tracked and owned. Ensure appropriate Benefits Realisation Strategy is in place, and monitor longer term delivery of benefits against the Business Case.
Stakeholder Management – Identify key stakeholders and develop effective relationships.
Risks & Issues – Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
Governance – Provide key reports and support effective governance and decision making. • Assurance – Support or set appropriate project assurance.
Change Management – Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
Guidance & Support – Seek appropriate support, guidance and coaching from the project community. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.
Project Performance & Controls – Build Project Plan and apply appropriate project principles to deliver stated objectives. Identify and set appropriate Project Controls. Track and report delivery against milestones.
Person specification
Essential Criteria (to be assessed at application stage):
Strategic Portfolio Alignment: Focuses on the selection, prioritisation, and management of projects and programmes to ensure they align with the organisation's overall strategic objectives, driving maximum value for the enterprise.
Alignment with the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) in maintaining project management standards, processes, and metrics across the entire portfolio.
Strong Governance and Risk Management and dependency management across projects.
The ability to select and tailor appropriate project delivery methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) to suit different project types and organisational needs across the enterprise.
Key Practitioner Qualifications: Essential certifications that validate expertise include the Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 Practitioner, or certifications in Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe) or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).

Working flexibly, delivering outcomes
CCS operates a smarter working model that balances flexibility with collaboration. Successful candidates are expected to spend at least 26 days per quarter (approximately 2 days per week, pro-rata) at their contracted office, another CCS site, or off-site for meetings. For the remainder of the time, you may work from home or another suitable location that meets business needs.
