Job description

Deliver a range of projects that will help to keep the UK safe and secure

Our collaborative, multi-functional construction teams work at locations in the UK and overseas. Joining us in this vital role you’ll be responsible for the successful scheduling and delivery of a wide range of important projects. Developing, coaching and mentoring colleagues in the latest project management techniques, you’ll create an environment that encourages our teams to implement efficiency initiatives and help reduce delivery costs.

Establishing the supply chain for each project you focus on, you’ll assign forecasting work to ensure optimum planning and use of our resources. You’ll embed rigorous project risk and change management processes and escalate any issues that occur. We’ll also expect you to build positive relationships with our customers and stakeholders, identifying opportunities to develop repeat and additional business. Other key responsibilities will include ensuring projects are delivered in line with our wider governance framework and with health and safety procedures.

Grow your career as a Project Manager as you work to defend the UK’s global interests

To be a success in this significant senior role you should hold Prince 2 Practitioner, APM PMQ and ISEB certification in project management or an equivalent discipline. You should also bring experience of using NEC3/4, GC works or the Fidic contracts and documentation used in procuring construction projects. With proven knowledge of applied project management methodologies in the design, development and implementation of multi-disciplinary construction programmes, we’ll also expect you to have deployed large, complex projects in a secure environment.

A natural leader and manager of diverse teams of professionals, you should have a good understanding of relevant health and safety standards and procedures, including Construction Design Management 2015. Membership of RIBA, RICS, ICE, IStruct E or CIBSE would be desirable, as would membership of APM or an equivalent professional project management body. In addition, experience of delivering projects overseas and practical knowledge of products such as M_o_R® , MSP® and M_o_V® would be an advantage.

Person specification

We are looking for people with:

  • Prince 2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, ISEB Certificate in Project Management or equivalent.
