Are you an organised and proactive business support professional who enjoys making things run smoothly and building positive working relationships?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a pioneering regional Foster Carer Wellbeing Programme, working with local authority partners across the South East to improve support for foster carers and the children and families they care for.

The role is based at Time Square, Bracknell, with around 5–10 days per month in the office and the remainder working from home. Some travel across partner authorities and occasional travel to London will be required to support programme delivery and sessions.

About you…

As Senior Projects and Business Support Officer, you will be a key point of contact for the programme and an important member of a collaborative regional team. You will bring strong organisational, coordination and communication skills to a varied role, helping to ensure the programme runs effectively and delivers high-quality activity.

You will coordinate meetings, governance, communications, learning and engagement activity, keeping projects on track and ensuring that information, actions and records are well organised and accurate. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, working across multiple local authority partners and building positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

You will have the opportunity to develop your project coordination and governance skills while gaining valuable experience of regional programmes, multi-agency partnership working and service delivery. Most importantly, you will contribute to work that has a meaningful impact on the wellbeing of foster carers and the children and families they care for.

About the team…

You will join a collaborative and innovative regional team committed to improving outcomes for children, young people and foster families.

Working closely with the Head of Programme, Regional Programme Delivery and Marketing Manager and colleagues across partner local authorities, you will help deliver practical wellbeing support, learning and engagement opportunities for foster carers across the South East.

You will be part of a team that values partnership working, ideas and practical solutions. The role offers the opportunity to work across organisational boundaries, build strong relationships with local authority partners and see the impact of your work through the delivery of a regional programme.

Please note: Children's services are currently progressing its Families First transformation programme. This role may be subject to changes to its responsibilities, reporting arrangements and/or job description. Any proposed changes would be managed in accordance with the council's relevant consultation processes and policies.

Key responsibilities…

  • Manage the Administration Assistant to the Foster Carer Wellbeing programme.
  • Coordinate the Regional Foster Carer Wellbeing Programme, ensuring operational and administrative activities are delivered effectively and on time.
  • Manage programme governance and information governance processes, including coordinating meetings, maintaining action logs, preparing monitoring reports, briefings and project board papers and ensuring accurate programme documentation. Maintain accurate records and ensure GDPR and DPIA compliance.
  • Plan coaching sessions, workshops and learning activities, producing resources and coordinating all delivery logistics.
  • Create newsletters, social media posts and promotional content, supporting campaigns to increase awareness, engagement and participation.
