Join our Commercial Team at L&Q:

L&Q are looking for a proven Senior Quantity Surveyor with extensive Quantity Surveying experience to join the Property and Investment Services Commercial team. The vacancy exists within the Reactive Repairs and Minor Works Commercial Team. Our Senior Quantity Surveyors have up to 3 direct reports and the role reports to the Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor.

The Senior Quantity Surveyors are responsible for the financial and contractual administration of projects carried out by L&Q, ensuring that general quantity surveying duties are performed to the highest standard and ensuring full contractual and monetary entitlement in the most advantageous terms for L&Q. The Project Quantity Surveyor will also be accountable for the identification, securing and recording of savings on projects.

Your impact in the role:

The post holder will take full ownership of the project and work stream to ensure all costs and required contracts are in place.

Being confident in supporting operational colleagues and all other relevant colleagues to ensure that all significant project issues and correspondence and all necessary contractual processes have been observed.

You'll be able to take control of the management of subcontractors and suppliers to always achieve best value to a programme whilst protecting the business contractually and providing accurate financial forecasting.

What you'll bring:

· Providing mitigation strategies for immediate implementation of all matters relating to contract and subcontract for review by Managing Quantity Surveyor or Head of Commercial.

· Managing budgetary constraints using forensic cost control techniques

· Strong analytical skills and will be highly numerate with data interrogation skills

· Experience of managing principal and subcontractor arrangements

· Be confident in managing poor performance.

· You will have a good understanding of Cost reconciliation for a workstream

· Commercial Awareness with good legal/contractual knowledge

· Competent in use of standard methods of measurement and use of SoR’s

· Degree or HNC level in a related discipline or equivalent substantial experience

· It is desirable for candidates to be professionally qualified member of CIOB/RICS but not essential.
