Job description
We welcome your application for the role of Senior Regional Implementation Advisor. This is an exciting opportunity for a substantive Chief Inspector or suitably qualified Inspector (who has their Chief Officer support for a temporary promotion), to join the Centre for Police Productivity (CfPP) as part of the wider College of Policing team.
This role will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with policing practitioners and key external stakeholders, including Forces, NPCC, Home Office, and professional bodies, to support the development and implementation of CfPP programmes and initiatives. Working collaboratively across the College, the postholder will drive the sharing of best practice, promote innovation, and embed a culture of inclusion within policing. Acting as a key point of contact for forces, they will provide expert advice, resolve queries, and support stakeholders through a problem-solving approach at both tactical and strategic levels. The role also involves contributing to the development of evidence-based products, conducting research and environmental scanning, and representing the College at national and regional forums, ensuring alignment of activities while delivering presentations and engaging stakeholders in continuous improvement.
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Initiate and foster close working relationships with practitioners in forces within a specified area to support implementation of key CPP programmes and products
- Act as the forces’ first point of contact to address, rectify and resolve promptly and satisfactorily any questions or issues relating to CPP services and support provided by the College to ensure that the College’s reputation is protected and enhanced.
- Ensure the development and review of CPP products reflect good practice, evidence-based work and lessons learnt. Research environmental scanning and consultation on operational policing issues. Provide recommendations that underpin the core values of the College and represent value for money.
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
- Proven experience of developing systems, processes and relationships to identify, explore and disseminate effective practice within policing or similar sectors.
- Subject matter expertise relative to professional community such as: Policing Standards, Policy, Practice; Implementation, Compliance and Improvement.
- Experience of working in an operational police environment in a police force and of working within police culture

Anticipated interview dates: 8 July 2026
This role is available as a secondment opportunity until 31 March 2027 to:
- serving police officers substantive in the rank of Chief Inspector, or those officers suitably qualified for temporary promotion in the rank of Inspector. All applicants must have the support of their Chief Officer which must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC and this must accompany an application.
An initial sift based on the lead question “Please give an example of the implementation of a national initiative in force or forces that you have worked on” may be held if a large number of applications are received. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift or progressed straight to assessment/interview.
