An opportunity has arisen for a talented and skilled Art/Food Technician, who will work as part of the Design Technology and Arts Faculty to support the learning and teaching of students by ensuring practical lessons are well resourced and compliant with current Health and Safety legislation.

Under the direction of the Head of Faculty they will contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective technical service to the Design and Technology and Arts Faculty, supporting staff and students of all abilities, across Key Stages 3 and 4, in the classroom. To maintain good working relationships with teaching and support staff and to liaise with other departments / staff in matters related to the technician service.

The successful candidate will:

  • be able to prioritise work effectively and remain calm under pressure
  • have excellent interpersonal skills
  • a mature and flexible outlook, with a can do attitude
  • pride in their work and a high level of attention to detail
  • have a creative/artistic flair
  • the ability to work accurately under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • a good standard of education to include 3 GCSEs at C/4 or above including English and Maths or equivalent, or evidence of a good standard of literacy
