Are you an experienced Service Charge professional with strong reconciliation skills and a keen eye for detail? Do you enjoy working across teams to ensure accuracy, transparency and compliance in service charge delivery?

If so, then we have the ideal role for you!

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Service Charge Officer to join our Service Charge team, and this role focuses on the accurate setting, reconciliation and management of service charges across a designated portfolio.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience in service charges, property, housing, or other reconciliation-based roles such as finance, utilities or energy sectors, where you have worked with large datasets, cost analysis and complex billing or charging structures.

Your impact in the role:

  • Calculate and manage service charge estimates and final accounts across your portfolio

  • Take ownership of end-to-end service charge reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Identify and resolve variances and unrecoverable costs, providing clear rationale

  • Support delivery of service charges across a portfolio valued at c.£130 million covering approximately 100,000 homes

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and forward planning of works

  • Resolve complex service charge queries and complaints within agreed service levels

  • Provide expert advice on service charge processes, lease interpretation and legislation

  • Support and attend resident meetings, presenting service charge information where required

  • Support the preparation of First Tier Tribunal (FTT) cases and attend where required

  • Manage the issue of Section 20b notices and support external audit activity

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in service charge, leasehold, housing or other relevant environments (e.g. finance, utilities, energy or billing roles) with transferable skills in reconciliation, cost analysis and data accuracy

  • Proven ability to manage large portfolios and high-value budgets

  • Strong understanding of reconciliation, apportionment and recovery

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Landlord & Tenant Act, lease interpretation, S20b requirements)

  • Ability to interpret leases and legal agreements and apply them in practice

  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with large datasets and Excel (lookups, pivots)
