At the Brokerage Solution Team, we work closely with over 40 teams across Hertfordshire’s Health and Social Care services—including Adult Disability and Older People’s Services, 0-25 Together, Gateway, Specialist Mental Health for Older People, and Hospital Teams. We also partner with Adult Mental Health, Sensory Services, and Children’s Services to ensure the best outcomes for the people we support.
As a Senior Service Finder, you’ll play a key role in supporting the BST Management Team with the day-to-day running of our brokerage service. Your work will directly contribute to sourcing high-quality care and support services for individuals across the county.

About the role
- Support the BST team in supervising, motivating, and managing staff performance and wellbeing.
- Oversee daily duty tasks, including triage and work allocation, ensuring effective use of brokerage resources.
- Ensure individuals with Care Act eligible needs receive quality support by liaising with providers and negotiating care costs.
- Monitor team performance, address issues promptly, and ensure adherence to service procedures.
- Manage staff supervision, maintain accurate records, and handle client-related correspondence.
- Support training and development of Flexi and Assistant Service Finders through the PMD process.
- Manage a caseload of complex cases, including financial and commissioning matters.
- Respond to complaints, manage conflict, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Lead projects to improve service areas or brokerage processes.
- Represent brokerage in multi-agency meetings to resolve urgent support needs.
- Analyse internal data to support project work and resolve financial or commissioning queries.

About you
Essential:
- Experience in a social care setting, ideally with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Confident working with diverse teams, professionals, commissioners, and providers and able to challenge constructively.
- Excellent organisational, IT, and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage urgent, complex situations collaboratively.
Desirable
- This role involves working across key HCC sites for meetings and training. Access to a vehicle is desirable, and the ability to travel is essential.
- A Level 4 qualification (NVQ/QCF) in social care, management, commissioning, or a related field is desirable.
- Familiarity with Liquidlogic systems (ACSIS).
- Knowledge of Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
