About the Team

The communications team plays a vital role in securing and promoting public confidence in qualifications and assessments. Our internal and strategic communications team sits at the heart of this work, ensuring internal content is engaging and that all work can be measured against strategic objectives. We're a creative, fast-paced team that balances proactive campaigning with rapid response communications, often working on high-profile issues that matter to millions of people across England.

Job description

To support the delivery of Ofqual's communications objectives by providing high-quality support across internal communications, strategic communications and data & insight disciplines. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders, developing evidence-based communications strategies and delivering impactful campaigns that enhance public confidence in qualifications and assessment.

Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift will be undertaken using the work history and personal statement against the lead essential criteria, which is experience of developing and delivering communications activity across one or more GCS disciplines (internal communications, strategic communications, data and insight).

During the interview process, this vacancy will include a task. You will be assessed on a written task to test storytelling, grammar and accuracy.

We often have similar roles available at different grades. If a candidate is suitable for a similar role or at a lower grade than they applied for, we may extend an offer without the need to go through a further selection process, providing the role has comparable behaviours and essential criteria.

Ofqual works flexibly, with a hybrid office/home based working model. Employees will spend at least two to three days a week working from our office in Coventry. As Coventry will be your base location expenses for travel to the office will not be paid.

Final panel interviews will be held in person. Further details will be provided at invite to interview stage.
