About the role

Are you an exceptional organiser who loves helping others shine? Do you thrive in a busy environment where no two days are the same? If you’re looking for a line management role where your natural efficiency, calmness and teamwork skills make a real difference, this could be the perfect next step for you.

We’re looking for a Senior Support Services Officer to lead our small Democratic Services Support Team and keep the Democratic Services function running smoothly. You’ll be at the heart of supporting both officers and elected members, ensuring they receive a seamless, top‑tier administrative and support service.

If you are motivated, organised, great with people and enjoy helping teams succeed, we’d love to hear from you.

What will you be doing?

As our Senior Support Services Officer, you will:

Lead, support, and develop a small team

You’ll manage workloads, coach your team, set priorities, and champion high standards of service delivery.

Be the go‑to expert for Democratic Services administration

You’ll oversee everything from inbox management and correspondence handling to performance reporting, training records, and managing key systems.

Help everything run like clockwork

You’ll coordinate meetings and venues, maintain records and filing systems, process invoices and member expenses, support webcasting and virtual meeting arrangements, and make sure officers and members have everything they need to do their jobs effectively.

Provide an exceptional service to the public, officers, and elected members

Your professionalism, accuracy and proactive approach will help ensure the smooth running of Council decision‑making and democratic processes.
