Senior Support Worker – Help People Live Their Best Lives Every Day

You’ll combine hands-on care with leadership responsibilities, making sure services run smoothly and reflect the choices and wishes of the people we support.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of Care Support Workers, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback
  • Work with your manager to plan, deliver, and evaluate person-centred care
  • Carry out quality audits, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with CQC standards
  • Support customers with daily living tasks, personal care, and community activities
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive relationships for every individual
  • Manage rotas, staffing cover, and assist with recruitment and induction
  • Liaise with families, professionals, and stakeholders to ensure joined-up support
  • Uphold health and safety standards and safeguard customers at all times

What You’ll Need

  • Experience of working in a care support role as either a Senior Care Support Worker, Supervisor or Team Manager.
  • Experience in organising, supervising and leading others within a professional or volunteering role
  • A compassionate, resilient, and non-judgmental approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and write reports
  • IT literacy and confidence using digital systems
  • A DBS check satisfactory to Peabody
  • Knowledge of CQC -– desirable but not essential
  • Care Certificate or relevant qualifications – desirable but not essential

Please Read Before Applying

This role requires an enhanced DBS check and while standard working hours are 09:00–17:00, the service runs continuously, so participation in a 24/7 on-call rota will be required for services in Mid and South Essex.
