Senior Support Worker
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people? We’re looking for a Senior Support Worker to lead and inspire a team of Housing Support Workers across two Ofsted-registered schemes in Lambeth, supporting young people aged 16–18 with complex needs.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed support that empowers our young residents to build independence and secure long-term housing. You’ll lead by example - facilitating one-to-ones, team meetings, and training sessions, while ensuring safeguarding, risk assessments, and personalised support plans are delivered to the highest standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you'll be leading and supporting a team that operates across 7‑day shifts, including weekends and nights. In this role, you’ll ensure that trauma‑informed, person‑centred support plans are in place for each young person and that these plans are regularly reviewed to meet their evolving needs. You will also respond promptly to any safeguarding concerns that arise, working closely with partner agencies to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
Alongside this, you’ll support young people in developing essential life skills, helping them progress toward independent living. A key part of your role will be to promote a culture of trust, empathy and emotional safety within your team, ensuring that staff feel supported and that young people receive the highest standard of care
We need someone who:
- Has experience working with vulnerable young people aged 16-18.
- Can confidently lead or supervise a team within a 24/7 support environment.
- Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma‑informed care.
- Holds a Level 3 qualification in social care, youth work, or housing, or is willing to work towards it.
- Communicates effectively and demonstrates empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
