What will your day look like?

As a Senior Technician in the Highways and Development Control Team, you will bring practical technical experience to a wide range of highways and transport solutions.

You’ll support the delivery of infrastructure programmes by managing technical information, maintaining accurate records, contributing to reports, supporting investigations and helping make sure colleagues have the data and evidence they need to make good decisions.

You’ll also be a key point of contact for routine technical queries, helping colleagues, members, partners and stakeholders understand information clearly and confidently. Alongside this, you’ll support site inspections, surveys, audits and data collection, making sure records are accurate, useful and up to date.

This is a hands-on technical role where your attention to detail, experience and ability to work with others will make a real difference.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with experience in a relevant technical or professional field who is comfortable working with data, systems, records and technical information.

You’ll need to be organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities. You’ll be someone who can spot when information needs checking, explain technical matters clearly and support colleagues to resolve routine issues.

Experience of preparing or contributing to reports, plans or documentation would be helpful particularly with financial data and invoicing, along with experience of inspections, surveys, audits or public engagement.

You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room, but you do need to be dependable, approachable and confident enough to share your technical knowledge in a way that helps others.
