About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Transport Information Officer to join our multi-skilled and flexible Transport Information Team.

This senior position carries direct supervisory responsibility for Transport Information Assistants and plays a central role in ensuring that passengers across the Liverpool City Region receive accurate, accessible and up‑to‑date printed and digital transport information.

In this role, you will lead and coordinate the production, publication and distribution of both printed and digital travel information for bus services across the region. This includes timetables displayed at more than 6,000 bus stops, real‑time information, journey planner data, disruption messages, and mapping and wayfinding materials at major bus stations and interchanges.

You will be responsible for managing bus service registration data, quality‑assuring digital outputs, updating disruption feeds, maintaining travel updates on the Merseytravel website, and preparing materials for both bus and rail services. The role also includes overseeing the day‑to‑day running of the in‑house print facility, coordinating third‑party distribution contracts, and responding to customer comments within corporate timescales.

As a senior team member, you will plan workloads, set deadlines, resolve technical and data issues, liaise with internal and external partners, and ensure the consistent delivery of accurate, high‑quality passenger information.

About the person

We’re seeking an organised, detail‑focused professional with experience in transport information or data management. Strong desktop‑publishing skills are essential, along with the ability to handle and validate data for digital systems.


You’ll work closely with internal teams, suppliers and transport operators, resolving technical or data issues and providing clear, timely communication. Leadership experience gained through managing workloads, supporting staff and supporting the delivery of the team’s daily workload is essential.
