Job summary
DWP is recruiting a Senior Videographer to sit within our Video Production Team.
This fast-paced and collaborative team is responsible for turning complex policy and customer messages into clear and engaging video content that that resonates with our audiences.
We create innovative, audience-focused content that drives engagement, builds communities, supports wider organisational objectives – and builds trust in DWP.
As our Senior Videographer, you will be responsible for developing and producing original content from concept through to delivery. You will play a key role in identifying creative opportunities, shaping compelling formats and ensuring content resonates with target audiences across multiple channels.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our content strategy and lead the production of creative projects that capture attention in an increasingly competitive digital landscape. You will work closely with content creators, social media specialists, production teams, talent representatives and external partners to deliver high-quality content and maximise audience reach.
You will be the team’s subject-matter expert on creator partnerships, influencer engagement and talent collaborations, bringing fresh ideas and industry insight to support our content ambitions.
This position reports to the Head of Video and will join a highly collaborative team of producers, videographers, editors, designers and digital specialists.

Job description
As our Senior Videographer, you will:
- Film, edit, and deliver original content from concept creation through to final publication across digital platforms.
- Identify emerging content trends, audience interests and creative opportunities to inform content development and production planning.
- Manage a team of videographers and provide oversight on concept creation and production.
- Build and maintain relationships with influencers, creators, talent representatives and industry partners to support content delivery and audience growth.
- Develop creative briefs, production plans and content proposals that align with strategic objectives and audience needs.
- Manage multiple productions simultaneously, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring efficient delivery across all stages of production.
- Work collaboratively with social media, marketing and production colleagues to maximise the impact and reach of content.
- Monitor content performance and audience engagement, using insights to inform future creative decisions and optimise content strategies.
- Ensure all content meets policy, editorial, legal and compliance requirements
- Proactively identify new content formats, creator partnerships and innovative approaches that strengthen the team’s creative output.

Experience Criteria for the Role
- Proven experience producing engaging digital content, with a strong portfolio demonstrating creative storytelling and audience engagement.
- Experience developing and delivering entertainment-led content across social and digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of content production processes, including concept development, planning, filming, and post-production.
- Demonstrable experience building relationships with influencers, creators, talent representatives, and external partners.
- Experience managing collaborations involving multiple stakeholders and delivering successful partnership projects.
- Ability to identify emerging trends, audience behaviours, and content opportunities within a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high creative and production standards.

The Civil Service uses a Success Profiles to assess candidates’, knowledge and skills. You will be assessed against experience and Government Communications Service (GCS) technical skills.
We’ll assess both what candidates are good at, as well as previous achievements to help us measure candidates’ experience and their potential. The assessment process comprises of a written application and for shortlisted candidates, a short scenario-based exercise and interview.
Written application
You will need to complete a CV setting out your career history with key responsibilities and achievements. Your CV will not be scored.
You will also need to provide 2 video submission of your own work {via a link] and answer a technical question related to both video submissions. The video submission and answer will be assessed against the essential criteria listed on slide 5.
Interview
A ‘blended’ interview lasting around 45 minutes to 1 hour will test a mix of experience and GCS technical skills as detailed below The interview will be a mix of questions and presentation of your links. The experience questions will be based on the experience criteria listed on slide 5.
You will also be asked to give a short presentation based on your 2 video submissions. Details of the presentation will be provided to candidates who are invited to interview.
You will be tested against the following Government Communications Service (GCS) technical skillsat (SIO) grade.
