We’re looking for an experienced Senior Voids Surveyor to lead the delivery of high-quality voids works, ensuring our homes are safe, compliant, and ready for new residents as quickly as possible.

This is a key leadership role where you’ll manage void properties from start to finish, mentor surveyors, and drive performance across contractors and internal teams to deliver excellent results.

About the role

As a Senior Voids Surveyor, you will:

  • Take full accountability for void works in your area, ensuring quality, cost control, and timely delivery
  • Carry out pre- and post-inspections, ensuring works meet lettable standards
  • Lead, mentor and support Assistant Surveyors to drive high performance
  • Manage contractors and monitor performance against KPIs
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, ensuring excellent communication and service delivery
  • Monitor budgets and drive value for money whilst maintaining high standards
  • Ensure all works meet relevant health and safety and regulatory requirements

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A confident and experienced building surveying professional
  • A strong leader with experience mentoring or managing technical staff
  • Customer-focused, organised, and able to manage a complex caseload
  • Proactive, solution-focused, and able to work under pressure

You will also have:

  • Extensive experience in building surveying and maintenance (social housing experience desirable)
  • Strong technical knowledge including Schedule of Rates and building defect diagnosis
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills

Essential Qualification – Non-Negotiable

To be considered for this role, you must hold:

  • A Degree in Building Surveying, Building Pathology, or a closely related discipline
    OR
  • A HND/HNC in Building Surveying or Building Pathology (or equivalent technical qualification

Applications will not be considered without one of the above qualifications.

  • Professional membership (e.g. RICS or similar) is desirable but not essential

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferable.
  • Ability to work operationally across the Peabody Estate in your region (Oxford and Reading mainly) and one day from your regional office.

  • Be able to participate in an out-of-hours rota with occasional evening and weekend working may be necessary
