£38,220 progressing to £41,771 (Officer)
£48,226 progressing to £53,460 (Senior Officer)
(Dependant on skills and experience. Pay award pending)
Hours: 37 per week (Part time applications will be considered)
Location: Stevenage with travel across the county required. Hybrid working opportunities available

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Trading Standards professional to join one of our business advice, compliance or investigations teams.
The work is varied and meaningful, protecting consumers and supporting businesses across the full range of Trading Standards functions, including:
- Risk-based inspections and market surveillance, utilising intelligence to target sectors, products and services where intervention will have the greatest impact.
- Complaint investigation, prioritising achieving compliance and positive outcomes for our residents.
- High‑profile and complex criminal investigations, with scope to develop innovative solutions with strong professional support, including in‑house legal services, a financial investigator and an intelligence officer.
- Regulatory advice and support to businesses, from small start-ups to large national enterprises via Primary Authority partnerships.
The Senior position will be expected to undertake a greater level of responsibility, lead on more complex issues and act as a mentor to colleagues, including apprentices.

About you

You will have:
- A recognised Trading Standards qualification.

- Full UK driving licence and access to own car. Use of an HCC vehicle is required on occasion
