Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is a busy unitary authority in east Lancashire. Blackburn and Darwen are vibrant towns surrounded by beautiful countryside and within easy reach of Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Preston, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.

This rare and exciting opportunity is for a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to join our supportive and well-respected Consumer Protection team, which deals with all aspects of trading standards work for the Council – and it has just benefitted from an extra post!

Our ideal candidate will be a qualified Trading Standards Officer with weights and measures and food standards credentials, while applicants for the Senior TSO role will be experienced officers with an excellent knowledge of the full range of trading standards legislation, and practical experience in enforcing it. You will join three TS professionals and be part of the Public Protection and Environmental Health Service, which comprises TS, Business Compliance, Environmental Protection and Licensing Teams. We also have close links with our partners in other regulatory services, Community Safety, Lancashire Police and the wider council.
