Job summary
The Homes England Sponsorship Team act as the primary oversight and contact point with Homes England (HE) for the department, sponsorship involves promoting and maintaining an effective working relationship between departments and public bodies, to facilitate accountable, efficient and effective services to the public.The Homes England Sponsorship Team provides the corporate and performance oversight of the agency and holds responsibility for ensuring that Homes England can deliver on the outcomes and ambitions required by the Government. HE are a key delivery partner for achieving the government’s 1.5 million homes target. HE sit at the heart of housing delivery, deploying public investment and expertise to unlock and drive forward housing and regeneration projects in England forging partnerships with a wide range of actors.We are looking for a person who is willing to engage across interests, is motivated by working through challenges as they emerge, looks ahead to any emerging opportunities and challenges and is open to using information and insights from a range of sources to understand context and build a rounded view.This is an exciting time to join the team within the Housing Markets and Strategy Directorate, as this ambition requires an evolution in Homes England’s strategic approach, including a new regional working model, the biggest Social and Affordable Homes Programme in a generation, a new innovative National Housing Delivery Fund, and the establishment of the National Housing Bank.Job description
Sponsorship working – building and sustaining effective relationships with policy and finance teams and senior leaders in the Department to -support effective sponsorship, commissioning, programme delivery and change programmes.
Using data, analysis, engagement and soft intelligence from a variety of sources to build a balanced picture of delivery and corporate performance and looking for ways to further strengthen the depth of our understanding.
Being curious and ambitious about how we can better support housing and regeneration delivery through our sponsorship role and to actively look to what needs to change in future to achieve this.
Specific duties will include:
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels across Homes England and the department
- Acting as a key contact between the department and Homes England
- Supporting the Sponsorship Team to lead improvements in the department’s oversight of Homes England
- Prepare briefing for internal and external meetings in relation to sponsorship of Homes England
- Support wider functions of the Homes England Sponsorship team
