Our Team:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Halton Borough Councils Public Health Team as a Project Support Officer.

Our team is committed to delivering meaningful changes to residents in the borough and improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.

This is an interesting and diverse role with opportunities for development.

Hours: 37 per week

The post is full time on a permanent basis based in Runcorn town hall, hybrid working (depending on service demands) Monday - Friday - Flexible working with occasion evening/ weekend work

Interviews will take place on 20th July pm and 21st July pm.


Your Contributions:

Are you an experienced Service Development Officer looking to utilise your experience and develop your expertise, if so, we invite you to join our team and bring your expertise, enthusiasm, and passion for making a real impact – and help us improve the health for the people of Halton

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with Senior Management, advise council officers, members and partners on the development, maintenance and evaluation of policies and strategies for the Council and its partnerships, and support the commissioning function for Public Health.

Educated to degree level or equivalent or able to demonstrate relevant experience, You will have:

  • Experience of working in a Health, Public Health, Social Care or Welfare setting (across Adults or Children’s Services).
  • Experience of interagency working and multi-agency partnerships
  • Knowledge and understanding of the policy development process.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and make judgements under pressure
  • Ability to think and plan strategically and able to understand and use numerical information.
  • Ability to exercise personal judgement with awareness of the sensitivity of context and be focused on customer centred services.
  • Ability to self-manage with a high degree of personal and professional integrity with effective presentation and communication skills
  • Skills and understanding of work within a political context
