    About Camden

At Camden, we’re building somewhere everyone can thrive. We want our borough to be the best place to live, work, study, and visit. We’re home to bold ideas and radical social change – and we’re making sure no one gets left behind. Join us, and you’ll help shape a better future for everyone.

    The role

We’re looking for an experienced Service and Repair Engineer to join Camden’s in-house team. You’ll carry out essential servicing, diagnostics, and repair work across our social housing portfolio – making sure heating, hot water, and gas systems remain safe, compliant, and fully functional.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work directly with residents, supporting them with clear communication, excellent service, and guidance on the safe use of their systems.

    What you’ll do

    • Carry out annual safety checks and servicing in line with legislation.

    • Diagnose and repair faults in boilers, pipework, heating controls, and renewable technologies.

    • Complete emergency and routine maintenance tasks quickly and safely.

    • Provide excellent customer service and clear communication to residents.

    • Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, and compliance certificates.

    • Escalate gas safety risks or safeguarding concerns appropriately.

    • Support Camden’s energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

    About you

We’re looking for someone who combines technical excellence with a resident-first approach. You’ll have:

    • At least 5 years’ experience in domestic heating servicing and maintenance.

    • Strong diagnostic and repair skills for heating systems.

    • Good understanding of gas safety legislation and landlord compliance.

    • ACS qualifications including:

      • CCN1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety)

      • CENWAT (Boilers & Water Heaters)

      • CKR1 (Cookers)

      • HTR1 (Gas Fires)

      • CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis)

    • Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.

    • The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver high-quality results.

    Desirable:

    • Experience working in social housing.

    • Training with boiler manufacturers or renewable technologies (e.g. air source heat pumps).

    • Experience supporting vulnerable residents.

    • Confidence using digital job reporting tools.
