We are seeking a Site Maintenance Officer to join our wonderful school community and become part of a friendly, supportive and dedicated team.

This is a job share role, initially for 15 hours per week, with scope for hours to increase over time. The working hours will be mainly in the afternoons, although we can offer some flexibility where needed.

About the Role

As our Site Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in helping to keep our school a safe, welcoming and well-maintained place for our children, staff and visitors. Alongside general site maintenance duties, the role will also include some cleaning responsibilities within the 15 hours.

You will be working in a school that truly values teamwork, mutual support and pride in our environment. No two days are the same, and the work you do will make a real difference to the daily life of the school.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys being part of a close-knit, supportive team
  • Is reliable, practical and takes pride in their work
  • Has a positive attitude and enjoys contributing to a school community
  • Is passionate about helping to make a school a wonderful place to be
  • Is proactive and self-motivated, being able to use their own initiative to prioritise tasks and work independently when required.

Direct experience in a school setting is not essential. We welcome applications from people with transferable skills gained in other roles such as caretaking, maintenance, cleaning, facilities, DIY, or similar practical work. Full support and guidance will be provided.

Why Join Us?

  • A beautiful rural location with a calm and welcoming atmosphere
  • A fantastic team who genuinely support one another
  • Wonderful children and families who value the school community
  • Flexible working arrangements within a job-share structure
  • The opportunity to grow the role over time

If you are looking for a role where your work is valued, your skills make a real difference, and you are part of something special, we would love to hear from you.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and satisfactory references will be sought prior to appointment.
