
Social Care Officer (Sensory Support)
£20,139 - £21,168 per year
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary, part-time (22.5 hours) Social Care Officer to work within the Sensory Support Team. This specialist team covers both children and adults living in the Stockton-on-Tees area.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with individuals, carers and partner agencies, delivering person-centred support that makes a real difference to people's lives every day.
The team carries out specialist assessments and provides tailored support to those with sensory needs, promoting independence, choice and wellbeing.

This is a fixed term contract covering maternity leave. The expected duration of the contract is until September 2027 but will be reviewed periodically with the post holder.
As this is a fixed-term post, secondment opportunities will be considered for internal employees. Please obtain prior approval from your current line manager before completing the application.

- Help to prevent, reduce and delay the need for formal on-going social care support
- Offer information and advice to enable people to access the right support at the right time
- Explore and facilitate the use of equipment and assistive technology to promote independence and well-being

- Has experience working with adults in a health or social care environment.
- Communicates confidently and builds positive relationships with individuals, carers and professionals.
- Is organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload effectively.

- Has a passion for helping people maintain their independence and achieve positive outcomes.
