As a Strategic Regeneration Partnership Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing landmark regeneration initiatives that will reshape communities, stimulate economic growth and create thriving places for people to live, work and invest. Working at the heart of our long-term Strategic Regeneration Partnerships, you will influence major development opportunities, collaborate with leading public and private sector partners, and help deliver projects that will have a lasting impact across the district.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to take a leading role in managing a transformational 10 to 15-year regeneration programme. You will act as the Council's client lead for our Strategic Regeneration Partner(s), ensuring ambitious plans become real-world outcomes.
You'll be at the forefront of bringing forward major development projects, enabling investment, overcoming challenges and ensuring regeneration delivers tangible benefits for our communities.
No two days will be the same. One day you may be reviewing a major development proposal worth millions of pounds, and the next you could be working with senior stakeholders, investors and developers to unlock new opportunities that support the district's growth ambitions.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll lead the Council's relationship with appointed Strategic Regeneration Partners, ensuring investment programmes are delivered successfully and in line with the Council's vision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic oversight of regeneration partnership agreements and long-term development programmes.
- Acting as the Council's lead representative and principal point of contact for Strategic Regeneration Partners.
- Driving the delivery of regeneration opportunities and ensuring development projects progress from concept to completion.
- Reviewing and challenging development proposals, business cases and delivery strategies to secure the best outcomes.
- Assessing financial appraisals, viability studies and funding proposals to support robust decision-making.
- Working collaboratively across Council services, developers, investors, landowners and public sector partners to unlock development opportunities.
- Advising senior leaders and elected members on complex regeneration, development and investment matters.
- Leading governance, risk management, performance monitoring and programme reporting arrangements.
- Identifying innovative solutions to overcome barriers and maximise regeneration and investment outcomes.
About You
We're looking for an ambitious and commercially minded regeneration professional who thrives on delivering complex projects and building strong partnerships.
You will bring:
- Significant experience of leading or managing complex regeneration, development or property projects.
- A strong track record of working within large-scale regeneration programmes, development agreements or public-private partnerships.
- Excellent commercial awareness and experience of reviewing financial appraisals, viability assessments and development business cases.
- A thorough understanding of regeneration delivery, development processes, land transactions and investment mechanisms.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence, negotiate and challenge constructively.
- The ability to interpret complex commercial, financial and technical information and translate it into clear recommendations.
- Outstanding project and programme management capabilities.
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
