Sheringham Nursery School and Children’s Centre leads A Brighter Start: London’s Stronger Practice Hub, one of 18 across England. Funded by the Department for Education and supported by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and National Children’s Bureau (NCB), the Stronger Practice Hub programme aims to improve quality in early years so that every child has the best possible start in life.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Stronger Practice Hub Lead to manage the delivery and coordination of our Hub under the strategic leadership of the Deputy Headteacher. You will work with early years educators and leaders across London to embed high-quality, evidence-informed practice, strengthening provision and improving outcomes for children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage delivery of the Hub’s activities to meet DfE KPIs.
  • Build strong networks across early years providers, schools, and childminders.
  • Promote and support the implementation of evidence-based programmes.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Hub team.
  • Plan and deliver training, events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee communications, marketing, and engagement with the sector.
  • Ensure effective financial management and compliance with funding requirements.

About you:
You will have a strong understanding of the early years sector, high-quality teaching, and professional development. You will be a confident leader who can inspire and influence others, manage change, and work collaboratively across organisations. Experience in training delivery, stakeholder engagement, and budget management is essential.

Essential requirements:

  • Relevant early years qualification (minimum Level 3) and degree-level qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • Proven leadership experience within early years, education, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing.

Why join us?
This is a unique opportunity to lead innovative work that supports educators to deliver the highest quality early years provision — work that will have a lasting positive impact on children’s lives. You’ll be part of a passionate, supportive team, with the flexibility of hybrid working and a strong culture of professional development.
